About Us

The Korean American Economic Development Center (KAEDC) was established in 2002, in Los Angeles, California, as a non-profit economic research institute.

OUR MISSION

At the KAEDC, we aim to:
create an informational powerhouse for Korean American economy and society,
promote an understanding of Korean America’s socio-economic contributions, and to
advance the welfare of Korean American and other communities.

We organize and collect information through researches, conferences, seminars, and educational projects on business, economy and society on issues ranging from promoting a competitive spirit to building successful businesses and communities. The KAEDC also provides a focal point for multi-dimensional networking between entrepreneurs, industry leaders, scholars, and other professionals.

KAEDC STRUCTURE

There are three KAEDC councils: Advisory Vision Summit Council, Research Council, and Economic Trade Council. These three councils oversee programs regarding information, research, and community related issues. There are also two subcommittees: Vision Network and Business and Economic Resource Center.

ADVISORY VISION SUMMIT COUNCIL

The VISION SUMMIT COUNCIL advises and mentors overall programs and organizational structures at the KAEDC, including other councils, and sub-committees. The VISION SUMMIT COUNCIL also organizes educational forums and talks by inviting leading figures to speak on economic and current topics.

RESEARCH COUNCIL

The KAEDC RESEARCH COUNCIL focuses on economic research and publications on Korean American society and economy, as it relates to other communities. Through continuous research projects and systematic organizations of academic information, the RESEARCH COUNCIL gathers information and resources on the economic status and the current state of the Korean American community.

ECONOMIC AND TRADE COUNCIL

The ECONOMIC AND TRADE COUNCIL provides space for networking between business entrepreneurs, scholars, and other professionals. It also provides mentorship from leading industry figures and professionals. The council holds educational projects for developing business skills and understanding global trends. Its members also have opportunities to do networking through overseas business partnerships, as well as industry-academy collaborative projects both in and out of the country.

VISION NETWORK

A subdivision of the ECONOMIC AND TRADE COUNCIL, VISION NETWORK provides multi-dimensional networking for young Korean American business entrepreneurs. At VISION NETWORK, its members participate in programs and forums structured for young business men and women.

BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC RESOURCE CENTER

BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC RESOURCE CENTER is a community support center. At the support center, we provide information and consultation on how to manage business start-ups and expansions within the Korean American community as well as in other communities. Our expert consultants provide support on issues related to complex business laws, government regulations, the rapidly changing international and domestic business environment, and other current business issues.
